Is this frowned upon at YC and does it hurt us in the approval process? on Quora

YC are fine with three founders—no need to limit it to two.

It’s important to pick the right founders in your application, because only the founders will be allowed to go to all of the YC dinners and office hours. Non-founders can be invited to occasional dinners of office hours (I don’t know what the current rules are) but it’s the founders that get the vast majority of the benefit of the more structured aspects of the YC experience.
