Is there a good online calendar for upcoming technology conferences?
My answer to Is there a good online calendar for upcoming technology conferences? on Quora
We’re trying to build exactly this with http://lanyrd.com/—not just for technology conferences, but they are definitely our largest niche.
We have over 3,000 conferences listed at the moment, and we categorise them in to topics, for example:
http://lanyrd.com/topics/social-...http://lanyrd.com/topics/web-dev...
http://lanyrd.com/topics/php/
http://lanyrd.com/topics/crimino...
You can also browse the site by place:
http://lanyrd.com/places/boston/http://lanyrd.com/places/brazil/
And even by topic-in-a-place:
http://lanyrd.com/topics/social-...Most importantly, if you sign in with Twitter we’ll pull the list of people you follow and show you conferences that they are tracking, attending or speaking at.
All of the above pages have associated iCal feeds so you can subscribe to them directly from iCal, Outlook or Google Calendar.
We’ve been live since the beginning of September but we’ve already got a pretty good community developing around the site.
Finally, if you’re a conference speaker we encourage you to build up a profile of the talks you’ve given in the past—here’s mine:
http://lanyrd.com/people/simonw/Lanyrd is under very active development, so please tell us if there’s anything we could be doing to help make it easier for you to find the right events.
