Changes in Opera's user agent string format (via) How depressing... Opera 10 will ship with 9.80 in the User-Agent string because badly written browser sniffing scripts can’t cope with double digits.

  1. I've seen similar agent parse fails in Flash-detecting JS since Flash 10 came on the scene. Opera should break everyone to force an upgrade or else they will be waiting for IE to hit 10.0.

  2. Aye, it's frustrating that this sort of thing still happens. I know of a load of .net 1.1 sites that'd break because of it's ridiculous adaptive rendering "feature". They'd be unlikely to fix them thanks to the very small number of Opera users they see.
