Migrating Microsoft Hotmail from FreeBSD to Microsoft Windows 2000. I’d like to see them try that with Yahoo!’s 100+ properties.
I seem to remember that in the late 90's, when Microsoft purchased Hotmail, the service was suspended while it was migrated to Windows NT.
Hotmail came back again (a long time later) after the port allegedly failed. I would love to know how much of this is true and how much was media hype.
