The article about Google is a bit out of date. I stopped reading at about
The monthly update is a thing from the past. They switched to a more continous update-schedule, and with that switch the results suffered their quality, which is said to be a temporary thing. Anyway that's another story...
And about the IE-Plugins confirmation box: I have it siwtched on for years now, just a simple security measure. And it saved me a lot of headache. You don't want ActiveX-Controls on by default when surfing the net; believe my, you don't. Anyway, I think most people will (hopefully) rather download a more recent browser by any other manufacturer, than an update from IE which will cripple an already out-of-date browser. ;)
P.S.: *** Your comment form wouldn't let me use a blockquote.

I like this competition idea because it gets great results -- for instance, people frequently call me saying something like "I saw that you listed all the photography rental stores in San Francisco so I knew I would rent your cameras". Yet I don't see many other people or companies adopting the strategy yet.
