pdf.js. A JavaScript library for creating simple PDF files. Works (flakily) in your browser using a data:URI hack, but is also compatible with server-side JavaScript implementations such as Node.js.

  1. Is there an actual use case for this? Cause I'm thinking, why would we litter the world with more PDFs?

  2. PDFs are still pretty nice for things like invoices, but the most interesting use for them these days is probably generating eBooks for use with the iPad / Kindle / other readers. I've also seen some very neat projects that generate things like wall charts / bingo cards / etc using PDF.
