  1. Does this apply to open source software? If so, who have I been sold to?

  2. With open source software, if somebody is profiting from it, your experience either as a tester or a developer is what is being sold to whomever is buying. Not necessarily a bad thing, because you're also the customer...

  3. Nonsense. A customer is anyone who recieves a service - it can be a colleague, a supplier and a traditional purchaser.

  6. This is a famous quotation we have all heared along the years, while getting initiated in the secrets of marketing. They taught us after this basic and healthy principle that nothing goes for free and they are entirely right about it. All in all, any service you offer or item you produce for the public use is basically a piece merchandise holding a certain value reflected by a certain price. It`s roughly simple when you put it this way. I remember those wise things I read on Ryan Deiss`s page about marketing and how to work toward emphasizing the real value in what we sell. He really makes advertising look like pure art.
