A little deeper investigation showed that nothing I had posted on Buzz had gone public since August 6. Nothing. [...] No one noticed. Not even me.   1. Well that is the whole point of micro-blogging. Duh! It is a passive communication media. If you need to be heard, you need to use a more actionable communication media.....

  2. What I don't understand about Leo's post is that he takes an experience on one service, Google Buzz, and suddenly extrapolates that to his use of Twitter, Friendfeed, and other services. Imagine if someone (outside of Brazil) commented that their posts on Orkut didn't get many responses and so they wondered if their use of Facebook really mattered. The lesson seems to be about Google Buzz, not social media in general.

  3. @theharmonyguy: I think he refers to the fact that no one ever noticed at all. Basically it shows that at some point his followers weren't really paying attention to his feed a all. It doesn't matter whether it's your Twitter, Buzz or Facebook account, if you realize the number of 'subscribers' really doesn't translate to the number of people actually paying attention to what you say (or dont't!).
