Too bad that all claims about open standards in his mouth sound ridiculous.
May this quote backfire at him.
Still Flash is an ugly blob.

Slightly off topic but since Google is going to support flash on android. I wonder if they will rewrite the interpreter for better performance and to make it less buggy while leaving the tools work to Adobe.

I dislike Flash and Adobe (and Apple), but you can hardly blame Adobe for having been dragged over the coals of Apple's technology roadmap when it is said that Adobe have been slow to adopt newer features of Mac OS X.

And as for Steve Jobs' assertion about third-party stuff - that it doesn't evolve quickly enough - having it around doesn't hurt other platforms, and Apple have been quite content to hurry the Python developers to meet Mac OS release deadlines in the past, for example. What Steve wants, Steve gets - I suppose that's the mantra.

So, once again this is about Steve Jobs making excuses when it's all about control. With Apple it always is.
