Today, Facebook counts 29% of its employees (and growing!) as Hive users. More than half (51%) of those users are outside of Engineering. They come from distinct groups like User Operations, Sales, Human Resources, and Finance. Many of them had never used a database before working here. Thanks to Hive, they are now all data ninjas who are able to move fast and make great decisions with data.

You see, I have said this before and I find this a suitable moment to repeat myself. I was right about the importance of going to a career advise center before applying for a job, before starting your career path. The fact is we may encounter pleasant surprises like this one, when apparently less employees of Facebook than expected have dealt with a database before actually working there. This way, nothing can stop you from aiming at the career you want to, by being well informed.

Facebook has managed to become the largest and most popular social media portal on the internet. While working at the web design Tucson office, I used to watch the changes and innovative ideas Facebook came up with and try to implement them in my work.
