Apparently [unladen-swallow] is already 30% faster than CPython, and this version is being used to run some of the Python code on YouTube.
But note that Collin Winter, one of the committers, says the general public should *not* run Unladen Swallow. (My opinion, no: its internals will be radically changing, and picking a stable rev will be non-trivial.)
