Powering a Google search. I thought the recent estimate of each Google search producing 7g of CO2 was a little high—Google have responded with a claim that the amount is 0.2g instead.
I'm inclined to believe that they're energy conscious, due to the profit motive if nothing else--I heard somewhere that serious thought was given by Google to building their own power stations, in order to reduce their electricity bill.
Interesting figures, anyway. I wonder if anyone has ever estimated the carbon footprint of all the world's spam ...
