    "White Island, the landing place of the Commercial Cables, is as barren a spot as one can well imagine, scarcely a tree on the island, and little vegetation of any kind to enliven the scenery, which, except for the sea, would be dreary, indeed. ... "

    They should use that for the tourist campaign ...
