Facebook Hacked By 4chan, Accounts Compromised. It wasn’t Facebook that got hacked: 4chan members got hold of a list of usernames and passwords from an insecure Christian dating site and started using them to raise complete hell. Yet another demonstration that storing your user’s passwords in the clear is extremely irresponsible, and also a handy reminder that regular users who “don’t have anything worth securing” actually have a great deal to lose if their password gets out.
4chan needs to die.

Good luck with that. :-/ 4chan may be the ass of the internet, but every internet has (at least) one.

the hacks resulted in rape for some and criminal accusations for others. how is that "SO awsome!!" love? perhaps they will be fortunate enough to be abducted or something.

Seriously? rape? You're blowing it out of proportion. Criminal Accusations I can see, but saying that people were raped specifically due to this hack makes no sense. Creating a false identity on a dating site would be just as easy or easier, if that is what they wanted. I mean seriously, the chance of finding a rapist on a dating site is high enough without these hacker rapists you're imagining.
It's the simple, critical fact that people do not know how to use the Internet, and this is what gets them into trouble, not being hacked.
Think of it this way, if a spammer got ahold of your email, and they emailed all of your friends that you hated them and never wanted to talk to them ever again, how many of those people would talk to you again? Why even worry about those that leave if they can't realize that it wasn't you who sent the messages?
Being hacked doesn't ruin lives, being an idiot about what you access and how much importance you assign to trivial shit is what ruins it. Use common sense and there'll be no problems.
