Load Balancer Update. WordPress.com has switched from Pound to nginx for load balancing, resulting in a significant drop in CPU usage. I’ve been using nginx on my little VPS for over a year now with no complaints, nice to know it scales up as well as down.

  1. I've been using Nginx at work and on personal sites for almost a year as well. One thing I appreciate about it, that I don't often see mentioned, is how sane the config syntax is. It's as clean as lighttpd but seems much more capable of expressing a range of situations.
