Apparently you can build a static library to use with the lxml module.
I tried both the static deps and normal build process on Ubuntu at work the other day and the build process blew up quite craptacularly. Apt-get works fine btw, but I wanted a glimpse of what I would face on the Leopard platform at home. I think there is a reason this library is underappreciated == underused. Programmers need better naming SAX should be MAX simple==minimal, minimal implies more work required on the modules user while simple implies a very easy to use. But I digress...
