OpenID at the Future of Web Apps

People seemed to really like my talk—they even laughed in the right places! I’ll be posting full notes, slides and writing an article for Vitamin over the next few days. For the moment I’m just enjoying coming down from the adrenaline high.

This is OpenID at the Future of Web Apps by Simon Willison, posted on 21st February 2007.

  1. Congratulations ! Let's wait for these new slides. I downloaded those you presented at the Oxford Geek Night (6th February 2007). They were crystal clear. I consider translating them in french with the help of the growing OpenId french advocates community.

  2. Hi Simon,

it was great to meet you yesterday, and thanks for mentioning FreeYourID.com in your great presentation.

We are working hard to enable .name for more openID providers and sites out there. I'll keep you up to date.

  3. Hey Simon, great job! Would love to get your slides -- any chance you could make the Keynote source available?

    Thanks!

  4. Simon,

Thanks again for delightful conversation at dinner yesterday, and for the nod to AOL in your presentation.

We're very excited about our support for OpenID and very interested to be part of the ongoing conversation around identity.

  5. Hi Simon,
Caught your presentation a FOWA. Well done! Can't wait for openID to come online at digg.com

  6. I just wish more places I used online supported OpenID...like slashdot, bloglines, Flickr, & Google. I don't have a lot of use for OpenID yet, because of that.

  8. Hi Simon.

Your talk was definitely one of the highlights for me of FOWA - well done!

Still a bit worried about the phishing problem though...

  11. Hi, Simon,

Your presentation at FOWA was outstanding - well done. It was probably the most useful presentation of the conference for me. I had an idea of what OpenID was but I didn't understand it in any great depth. I tried to find you afterwards to thank you in person but no luck so I'm afraid you'll have to make do with this virtual thanks.

    Hope to meet you soon.

Very impressed by your presentation at FOWA, infact it was probably my favourite of all the presentation and has really given me a buzz about OpenID.

  16. Hi Simon, I loved your presentation and it convinced me to add it to ContactOffice.com, we may even study the opportunity to become an identity provider.

    Nice !
It cleared so many doubts I had regarding openID. We are doing a small project on implementing this, I am looking forward to see more on the 2nd version on Open ID.
    Thanks a lot
