YUI 2.4.0 released. Lots of great new features, but the one I’m most excited about is Selector: YUI finally has a CSS query engine.

  1. In what instances would YUI be preferred over the alternatives (jQuery, Prototype, etc)? Based on my limited use it appears large and cumbersome by comparison. What does it offer that make it a better choice for certain environments or projects?
