AOL & OpenID - Status Update. It looks like they’re whitelisting a small list of providers for the moment. I’m not sure what this means for delegation.

  1. As much as this is disappointing (them only accepting some OpenIDs), I was at least able to login with my http://bradfitz.com/ OpenID, which just delegates to LiveJournal.

    So it could be worse.

  2. Brad's comment helps a lot.

I assumed that it would work for me (since I delegate to MyOpenID), but wasn't sure.

Good to know. And yes, whitelisting (already) hurts :/.

  3. Yep, I could sign in with my wintermute.com.au OpenID, delegating to myopenid

And personally, I think whitelisting makes sense... Especially if it'll make other AOL (and more) properties start accepting OpenIDs -- I imagine it's a lot easier to 'trust' a whitelisted openid provider than accepting them from any old place.

  4. No problem with delegation here.
