Lots and lots of CSS buttons

The alternative W3C buttons on AntiPixel are great. Jamie Zawinsky suggested recreating them in CSS. Stuart Langridge, Marek Prokop, Nick Boalch and Eric Meyer all had a go. Eric even did the Raging Platypus ones as well.

  1. The Stuart Langridge link seems to be bad.

  3. I'd just like to point out that I redid the Plat's buttons and the XML (RSS) buttons before seeing Zawinski's comment over at Antipixel. Oddly, I did the XML (RSS) button a few days back, when people asked me if I had an RSS feed and I thought I'd better create a button for it. Then I saw the Plat's work (via Zeldman; who else?) and tackled them. It was only thereafter that I trekked back to Antipixel to find out how it had all started, and saw Zawinski's comment. I dedcided to post them anyway.

  4. The not-the-same-width problem in by buttons is now fixed, following some experimentation: http://www.frejol.org/archives.live?id=2003040601

  5. I've got my own set on my site. I also designed the GeoURL button, which started life as a CSS button and was only rendered as a png as a convenience for...people who would rather be inconvenienced by an external file. I also made what I think is a wicked-cool button for reversible.org (http://crossroads.net/a/archives/2003_02.php#0007 96), but that's offline right now.

  6. A similar approach for CSS buttons is presented on my page about creating pure CSS buttons. Maybe you find this interesting as well.
