Trackback roundup

Plenty of action on the TrackBack front. Michel V is adding TrackBack support to b2, Moveable Type have released a standalone Perl implementation of TrackBack under the Artistic license, MetaFilter have added TrackBack support and Matt Kingston has published a full blown Homebrew TrackBack Tutorial for people who want to roll TrackBack support in to their own home grown blogs. Yet another thing to add to the todo list...

This is Trackback roundup by Simon Willison, posted on 30th August 2002.

  1. In fact, had I known this was so easy, I would have added TrackBack in b2 once the idea was out. After all it's only a matter of fopen() a remote URL to trackback an entry, and make a script that accepts some defined querystring parameters to allow a post to be trackbacked: piece of cake. :)

  2. Interesting - looks like we'll have to steal that simplicity for PingBack :) Shouldn't be hard at all - PingBack just needs to be given a couple of URLs, it doesn't matter whether they come in from a link or an XML-RPC request or something else entirely :)
