I cycled past it this afternoon. It's extremely eye-catching, and well-motivated. Also very appropriate for the Cambridge mentality of urgency. "Ars longa, vita brevis," and all that.
Also unusual, and confrontational, is the clock's siting. It occupies a position more typically occupied by clothes shops' dummies: the lower edge of the clock is about a metre off the ground, and the clock is around a metre and a half to two metres tall: person-sized, in other words.
Suddenly, Corpus is much more obviously an interesting college.
