Battery Statistics. Run “ioreg -w0 -l | grep Capacity” on a MacBook or MacBook Pro to find out the DesignCapacity (original) and MaxCapacity (current) of your laptop’s battery.

  1. coconut battery puts a gui round this. Or at least, I assume it does. It offers comparable numbers, ad is prettier.

  2. Also works for iBook and same info as About this Mac > More Info > Power if you don't want the full coconut but still fear the shell.
