pygooglechart. I tried a bunch of Python wrappers for Google Charts and liked this one best.

  1. But can Google Charts plot negative values yet? Seems a peculiar limitation.

  2. I dunno Google Charts are REALLY limited considering you can use so many much better charting solutions with just a touch touch work.

  3. I'd love to hear what other people think are those good options. When I was looking around (at PlotKit, at MIT's Simile and related projects, at another I've now forgotten) I couldn't find anything that was as complete as Google Charts.

Simon, agreed on pygooglechart. I've been using it for a while.

  4. We're using pygooglechart now for beta.lijst.com. But, I've used ChartDirector (advsofteng.com/gallery.html) in other projects with pleasure. They have a python port. It's closed source though.

Since Lijst is young, I can not yet say if Google charts is satisfactory. We might switch some day...

  5. To inform you, yesterday we switched from GoogleCharts to ChartDirector. See for yourself at www.lijst.com

I welcome your suggestions. Cheers, Robert-Reinder
