  1. You can also just drag the Textmate application (or anything else) to the Finder toolbar. Hover a drag over any empty part of the toolbar and it'll change to edit mode.

    Alas, it'll only work as a launcher and drop target, but I always edit files by dropping them on the TM icon anyway, and this puts the icon much closer to my cursor. I also have Preview, VLC, Acorn there - anything that I can edit files in.

    This has worked since 10.2 as well, I'm sure..
