IE8 Passes Acid2 Test. This is huge. As Kevin Yank points out, this means IE8 includes proper support for the object tag, CSS table layout properties and generated content.

  1. data: urls, too, yes? Although...weren't there two versions of Acid2, one of which didn't include data urls?

  3. Either that or they just scan for the source of the Acid test and display a graphic resource if it's found. That's how I'd do it. It's agile. ;)

  5. Late to this party, but now that IE8 beta is out it is worth mentioning that so far IE8 has no proper support for object, since the fallback is invalid. Ian H considers this a bug in the implementation. So do I.
